The journal will be open to doctrinal, context-based, reformative or comparative work, in all fields of law. Authors who want to reach an audience beyond traditional fixed locations will welcome this new open access platform, which accepts submissions in both English and Arabic and provides abstract translations. The journal invites contributions from legal scholars with varied perspectives. All manuscripts will be peer reviewed prior to publication or rejection.
Dr. Jon Truby Editor-in-Chief of International Review of Law and professor at the College of Law, Qatar University , said, "The launch of International Review of Law is a success for Qatar University College of Law and its research agenda. We have exceptionally ambitious plans for the journal and aim to distinguish it from other publications by continually attracting the highest calibre of submissions, offering bilingual translation in English and Arabic, ensuring substantial readership through its open-access platform, and endorsing strict quality control and reviewing standards. The journal's scope and international outlook offers an opportunity for scholars and practitioners to engage in legal debate in a range of contemporary subjects and publish in a review promoting the highest quality research. We look forward to working with BQFJ in this fresh and exciting project."
The launch of International Review of Law - is a major milestone in Qatar Foundation's and BQFJ's mission to reflect the burgeoning research environment of Qatar to the wider world through a state-of-the-art publishing enterprise.
Arend Küster, Managing Director of BQFJ, said, "We are very proud to be launching International Review of Law, for many reasons. Firstly, open access publishing in legal research has been proven to be significantly more cited than works in subscription journals and secondly, we are proud as it expands the scope of our journal offerings. Despite our name, we are not just about science, we intend to have journals in all areas of academic research - including art, education and of course, law. We are particularly pleased that Qatar University College of Law has made a significant stance to support the journal and open access by honouring the article processing charges for all accepted articles."
QScience.com 's advanced technology makes research findings readily accessible and searchable and uses multimedia functionalities to support data, audio and video formats as well as text.
QScience.com already hosts seven scholarly journals covering diverse subject areas such as information & library studies, sustainable energy, education, healthcare, design and Islamic studies. Many other journals are scheduled to be added in 2011.
