ملخص

Tracheostomy is a procedure commonly undertaken in critically ill patients since it has several advantages over prolonged translaryngeal intubation. For critically ill patients bedside tra-cheostomy can be performed by a percutaneous approach using either an incisional or a dilatational techniques. The major advantages of bedside percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy are that it is easy to perform, more rapid and less expensive.
