Abstract
An old lady with mitral regurgitation, and chronic atrial fibrillation, who was maintained on amiodarone 200 mg daily for five years, presented with fever and confusion due to septicemia and hepatic encephalopathy. Her chest radiograph and chest CT scan showed interstitial infiltrates. Histopathology of transbronchial biopsies suggested amiodarone-induced lung toxicity. The amiodarone was discontinued and the patient showed some improvement. The case, the presentation and the diagnosis are discussed.
